FRIDAY OCTOBER 23
Powerful like a wave, the music of this 30 musicians ensemble carry a voice where all the influences of its members make more than a good cocktail. Coming from the « ensemble inter-contemporain », the « Orchestre National de Jazz » and improv or rock combos, they all create an impressive orchestra mecanism they share with the audience. incredible moments to come !
The breath, the extension of an instrument and its electronic processing: Liz Albee is a trumpet player who is interested in edges between her instrument and technology, between voice and body. Little known in France her work is very physical and sensual as well. To be discovered !
• Trio Kimmig-Studer-Zimmerlin invite John Butcher
Harald Kimmig, Violin / Daniel Studer, Contrebasse / Alfred Zimmerlin, cello /
John Butcher, Saxophone (Suisse, Royaume-Uni)
Here is a spirited and accomplice string trio. They invite the indispensable voice of John Butcher. The music they invent together is just like these discussions you can have with good friends : cordial debates, a couple of arguments and finally giggles. Their joy of playing is contagious.
• …LA ROSE DES VENTS… cinema for the ear
Lionel Marchetti (France)
First Act : entering the night
We think we know Lionel Marchetti. And we realize his talents as improviser and composer are multifaceted. Densités invites you to discover the composer with an adventurous proposal to go on his teeming roads. It’s a captivating cinema for the ears where large spaces, sounds and voices are to be relished in a quadraphonic and cozy atmosphere.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 24
Afternoon • from 2 P.M.
• “La rose des Vents”
Lionel Marchetti, Composition (France)
Second concert at the dawn of a new day. Concert and lecture.
Ève Petermann, Dance / John Russell, Guitar (France, UK)
An unprecedented meeting between two divergent energies. The sparkling Eve Petermann use of body and voice, practice clowning and photography. John Russell, a figure of European free music is a master of the guitar. What do they have in common? An immoderate taste for improvisation.
• « Feuille » / Compagnie La controverse
Sébastien Bouhana, percussions / Jeanne Videau, voice (France)
Inviting the public to listen to everything that can be said , read, and heard, generating intimacy. « Feuille » is an ode in honor of listening where Jeanne Videau lets her voice floating and Sébastien Bouhana develops a sensual language. Here is a poetic discovery.
• 2 solos/2 wines
Collectif Ishtar / OVNIVINS (France)
Christophe Auger: projecteur 16 mmn, lumière / Xavier Saïki: guitar (France)
Two artists choose a natural wine and play in resonance with it. The audience enjoys the wine chosen. It’s the great idea of the collective Ishtar’s musicians, together with talentful filmmakers and OVNIVINS, an association that promotes natural wines. Our senses resonate…
From 9 P.M.
• « Aerobiconoise » (Harsh pop, France)
Mr Marcaille et Tzii, electronics / Sophie Monroy, hula-hoop / David Clément, indoor bike
Sport, sound and sweat ! Accustomed to mind-blowing performances, Mr Marcaille and his mates try to combine sport and noise music. And it works ! A hula- hoop, an indoor bcycicle trainer and two electronic sets are the ingredients of this staggering performance.
• « Where is the sun »
Isabelle Duthoit & Franz Hautzinger, Clarinet and voice, trumpet
Dieb13 & Martin Tétreault , turntables. (France, Austria, Canada)
This quartet features four artists with prestigious references. They weave a web between abstract and concrete, between acoustic and electronic music. They invent a whirling music and take us on new paths.
• « Light Bulb Music »
Michael Vorfeld (Allemagne)
Michael Vorfeld is a percussionist. He thinks the visual and the sound together. He develops a microcosmic facility where the light dances through many bulbs activated by switches and relays. A global world appears. Colors and shapes are blowing up and the electrical variations make a music. And the magic happens.
• « France »
Here is a band of bewitched rock, playing with the repetition of a rhythm pattern. It could sound like some kind of gigantic hurdy gurdy…This instrument played masterfully by Yann Gourdon plunges us indeed into trance. And this almost primal music dissolves the time. And connects us to the physical reality of sound.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 25
From 2.30 P.M.
• « Cranc »
Trio Nikos Veliotis cello / Rhodie Davies harp / Anghard Davies violin / (Grèce/Royaume-Uni)
Silence is a common interest for these three artists. But not only. They invite us to listen and feel the entirety of the space, between two sounds. Never boring, they create a generous music. « Cranc » has the subtle elegance to allow everyone inside the music.
• Le lieu d’un autre centre (« The place of another centre »)
Frédéric Blondy, Piano / Diemo Schwarz, Electronic (France, Germany)
Frédéric Blondy loves the piano in all it’s form. We are here in an environment where all elements of the instrument are at stake. Diemo Schwartz, musician and researcher at Ircam, recovers the different sounds while they are created. It’s all about concatenative synthesis and musical events modelling… Mysterious terms for the neophyte…the most important being that this « other centre » opens us up the possibility to lose our points of reference.
• Lotto !
Mike Majkowski, Doublebass / Lukasz Rychlikci, Drums / Pawel Szpura, Bass (Pologne, Australie)
« Lotto ! » is at first sight a typical rock trio with the bass and the drums creating long repetitive structures. But this music has « something else »…thanks to a third element : the double-bass played by Mike Majkowski who does a beautiful goldsmith work. An event between improvisation, country and noise.
• PONGO LAND
Duo Hermann Heisig and Nuno Lucas, Dance (Allemagne, Portugal)
