John McEntire (Tortoise) & Schneider and Kacirek & Circuit Des Yeux
Schneider and Kacirek are on tour with John McEntire (Tortoise) from Chicago. His numerous projects - The Sea And Cake and Tortoise are two of the most prominent - have made him a first-call international musician, producer, and remixer for groups and players as varied as Stereolab, Gastr del Sol, Mouse On Mars, among others. McEntire will play one of his rare solo sets.
Stefan Schneider (bass and electronics) is a founder member of ex-KREIDLER and TO ROCOCO ROT. He has worked with such diverse musicians as Hans-Joachim Roedelius (Cluster), Klaus Dinger (Kraftwerk, NEU!) or Hans-Joachim Irmler (Faust).
Sven Kacirek (drums and percussion) has released three solo albums thus far, including the highly praised "Kenya Sessions" in 2011. He has collaborated with Marc Ribot, Nils Frahm, Hauschka and F. S. Blumm.
The Wire magazine about their album: "Their melodies are models of economy, three or four notes articulated by bass, synth or a tuned percussive stark. Decorative flourishes, when present, are similarly austere. If this music were a machine, it would be one with few moving parts, and each one absolutely essential to the whole."
opening act: Circuit Des Yeux
Haley Fohr’s music strikes a unique balance between the personal and universal. As Circuit des Yeux she creates music that embodies the complexity of human emotions, juxtaposing tenderness and grief, ecstasy and horror, using sounds as representations of the emotional spectrum that we all experience. Fohr’s striking voice, an impassioned baritone, is the music’s centerpiece and guiding force.
