Our Man from Brussels plays some tunes for Bill Orcutt & Okkyung Lee + Rodrigo Amado & Chris Corsano
Bill Orcutt & Okkyung Lee (USA/KOR) + Rodrigo Amado & Chris Corsano (PT/USA) and Our Man from Brussels will spin some records before, between and after their gigs!
Monday 26th of September at 8 PM, Les Ateleirs Claus, Rue Crickx 15, 1060 Saint-Gilles!
2 double dates between 4 great players
The first meeting is between Bill Orcutt (USA) and Okkyung Lee (South Korea). Individually these players have focussed on an idiosyncratic approach to their chosen instruments and technique. Okkyung is one of the most singular voices to compromise the cello’s ‘classical’ origin, whilst Orcutt has spent many years developing a unique abstraction of traditional guitar blues.
Chris Corsano (USA) is a unique drummer, with his own unique style. From explosive to mesmerizing to abstract to rough. We could listen to him for hours and would recommend someone to make an action doll out of this figure. On 26th September Chris will be teaming up with Portuguese saxophonist (alto, C melody, baritone, and tenor) Rodrigo Amado (PT) who specializes in free-form, composition-in-the-moment jazz. With diverse musical interests, he explored how improvisation is handled in other genres.
