turntablist sound poetry
The following piece is a composition made out of short improvisations using voice
recordings of my own voice, which i pressed on vinyl to mutate it more & more with
turntablist techniques and some simple effects of the mixing desk. An inspiration
for the structure of the piece is rather speech/languagethan music. Different kinds
of parole interest me in this context, as to rebuild language with this abstract
voicenoises - intonation, rhythm, dynamics etc.
for the voicerecordings i used the more noisy voicesounds, or better, the voice-less
sounds of the mouth and throat, as used by some of the dadaist poets like raoul
hausmann and also the lettrist poets as defined in isidore isous "introduction…"
my work with voice and language is still in the beginning, but the GLOTZAUGE piece
gives an insight in my current researches on this.
