He moved to the Netherlands in 1998 to study at the Royal Conservatory; he thereafter moved to Brussels (Belgium) where he presently lives.
Augusto has collaborated with many musicians from the European and worldwide jazz scene: Mark Murphy, Eric Vloeimans, Jean-Jacques Avenel, Ben Sluijs, Jeroen van Herzeele, Eric Vermeulen, Eric Thielemans, Manolo Cabras, Marek Patrman, Lynn Cassiers... are a few of the most well-known names.
A special mention goes to his collaboration with two historical artists from New York, epigones of the free-jazz style akin to that of Paul Bley. With Gary Peacock and the late Paul Motian, Augusto records the trio No Comment; the master is published, and is currently distributed, by the German label Jazz Werkstatt.
Another key project of Augusto's is the collaboration with Dutch post-modernist choreographer/performer Neel de Jong, with whom he has the chance to share a yearly stage at the Fringe Festival in Edinborough (U.K.) and Dublin (Ireland) - and others in France, Montenegro, Germany.
In November 2014 his first quartet album “A turkey is better eaten” is released by “El Negocito Records”.
In february 2018 the same label releases Pirodda’s second solo album “Kosmima”.
