The fourth edition of the transdisciplinary Seanaps Festival has taken place from October 15-18, 2020 in Leipzig. The festival sees itself as an homage to life and its sounds, as a vibrant mixtape for curious ears, created in interaction with a global experimental music scene – an intense moment of collective listening. It is conceived as an interface between music, sound art and the living environment – presented, explored and discussed through different formats.
In four days of performances, concerts, sound installations and listening walks, the festival will bring audio art to the west of Leipzig. A program with discussion panels and presentations will reflect upon artistic research on a cultural-political level.
14:03 Schnelle Musikalische Hilfe presents : Mein tiefes Mitgefühl für diesen Ohrwurm : Part 1
Mein tiefes Mitgefühl für diesen Ohrwurm is a lyrical and musical project that features small sung
sentences as symbolic relief for earworms. In the radio form for Seanaps festival, schnelle
musikalische hilfe will display other than the regular ear worm solutions such as: playing sudoku,
listening to God Saved the Queen, or avoid late night coffees; and will transcend what is
scientifically considered the ear worm cause: upbeat tempos or pitch patterns; schnelle
musikalische hilfe will change the topic, use double meaning of homonyms and homophones or
passing her ear worms to listeners and people she will get in contact with, she will be present
throughout the festival offering fun facts and her deepest sympathy to this that earworm of yours.
Every ear worm has a worm in it.
Schnelle Musikalische Hilfe is an imaginary institution that deals with small musical problems as an
excuse to start debates on bigger or other variously sized problems.
14:23 Nicholas Dawson (Bookworms): Radiophonic Work - Bookworms
Nicholas Dawson (Bookworms) is a Los Angeles-born, New York-based electronic composer who
produces and performs sound works under the name Bookworms. His work is often concerned
with various modes of representation and interpretation through audio and non-linear living sonic
histories. By way of advanced synthesis, generative sequencing and audio collage, Dawson
accesses detuned realities, and conjures harmonics, rhythms and ghosts of the truths which they
have come to signify across time and space through repetition... a multi-dimensional blues. He has
released music through L.I.E.S. Records, Anòmia, BANK Records, DFA, Bánh Mi Verlag, and
Break World Records. Currently, he is part of two collaborative live and recording projects with
Dylan Scheer (Via App) and Leila Bordreuil, respectively. For Seanaps Radiolab he has produced
a new radiophonic work.

15:39 TRii Group presents: Curiosity vs. Classification. A broadcast on non-disciplinarity
This broadcast will review formats and notions of knowledge production that operate outside of
generally recognized disciplines. A type of knowledge production which is non-disciplinary and in
this regard autonomous. Such uncategorizable, ambivalent, brittle, indiscernible forms, that allow
us to think a mode of being that is to some extend separate from but still within this world.
