Bill Orcutt is an American guitarist and adventures musician known for his unique approach to playing the guitar. He was born in 1962, in Miami, Florida. Orcutt first gained attention as a member of the noise rock band Harry Pussy in the 1990s. The band was notable for its chaotic and abrasive sound.
After Harry Pussy disbanded, Orcutt pursued a solo career, and his solo work is characterized by his unconventional and raw guitar playing style. He often uses alternate tunings, slide techniques, and extended playing methods to create a distinctive and improvisational sound. His solo albums include a mix of original compositions and reinterpretations of traditional folk and blues songs.
Bill Orcutt's work has been influential in adventures and avant-garde music circles, and he continues to explore the boundaries of guitar playing and composition.
Orcutt swears Watt’s prime influences were James Blood Ulmer and Fred Frith’s Massacre.
Bill manages two labels : Palilalia Records for his guitar work and Fake Estates for his electronic Cracked Music
